This round copper plated locket features a Fleur de Lis symbol accented with rhinestones. There is a burgundy resin accent in the center of the locket. The Fleur de Lis has been a symbol of the City of New Orleans ever since the City’s birth. Meaning Lily in French, the emblem of the Fleur de Lis was associated with French Royalty at the time that the City was established by France. The design of the Fleur de Lis was incorporated into the City’s flag. After the devastation of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the Fleur de Lis became a symbol of support for the City and an emblem of unity among all who love her.
